A FASCINATING fishing boat that spent nearly half a century working the waters off the Hastings coast is being restored to its former glory.
The Valiant was built in 1952 and spent 46 years on the waves as a key part of the local fishing fleet. After it was retired it was brought by The Fishermen’s Museum, Rock-a-Nore, where it has been a proud symbol of the town’s maritime spirit. But now the RX90 Valiant has been moved to a local boatbuilder Steve Barrow’s yard where it is undergoing a £26,000 refurbishment, thanks to various charities like The Stade Education Project and the museum. Mr Barrow was joined by two Sussex Coast College students - Lewis Smith and Shane Bracey - who will help with the repairs.
