THE Hastings Sea Shanty Festival will return tomorrow (Saturday), as part of the free Stade Saturdays programme of events.
Following the success of the first ever Hastings Sea Shanty Festival last year, the event is shaping up to be an annual occurrence.
Performers include Hastings Shanty Singers; Graeme Knights, Paul Sirman and Kerry and Mandy, and the Portsmouth Shanty Men.
Councillor Peter Chowney, lead member for regeneration, said: “Once again a selection of the country’s finest performers of traditional sea shanties will descend upon the Hastings seafront including our own wonderful Hastings Shanty Singers, whom many will know well from their regular Thursday night sessions at the Stag in All Saints Street.
“They will provide family entertainment throughout the afternoon and evening.”
This year the festival will take place from 1pm at the Fisherman’s Museum, in Rock-a-Nore, and from 7.30pm at the Stade Open Space.
