Schools to hold mufti day in aid of Charity for Kids

SCHOOLS across 1066 Country will be taking part in a mufti day next Friday (June 27) for a children’s charity.

Charity for Kids, which was set up in 2011 to help sick, disabled and terminally ill youngsters, is organising the event, which it hopes will become annual, in order to raise much-needed funds.

Schools already taking part in next Friday’s fundraiser include Pebsham Primary School, West St Leonards, Crowhurst, William Parker, Helenswood, Blacklands, St Leonards Academy, Robertsbridge, and Silverdale Schools.

Cllr Bruce Dowling, who took over as Mayor from Cllr Alan Roberts earlier this month, said: “Charity for Kids is a local organisation, helping disabled and terminally ill children, within the Hastings and Rother district.

“It holds events, completes enduring courses and 100 per cent of proceeds raised go straight into the charity to benefit the children.

“I have been made aware that the charity is asking all local schools, to hold a CFK day on June 27.

“I think this is a wonderful opportunity to get the community and other children involved, to help local children in need.”
