The Sara Lee Trust’s annual Christmas Fair drew a large crowd and raised more than £3,000 in just a few hours.
The event took place at St John the Evangelist Church, St Leonards on Saturday (December 6).
Maria Gonet, of the Sara Lee Trust, said it was an amazing day, adding: “We would like to thank everyone who supported us, donated prizes or bottles for our raffle and tombola, all those who baked, crafted, helped with the set up or clear, helped on the day - and to all those who came along and helped raise an incredible £3,156.
“The fair is a team event and would not have been the success it was without the help, support and commitment of our wonderful volunteers and supporters so a huge thank you from everyone at the trust.”
Money raised will be used to provide complementary therapies, counselling and therapeutic group activities to patients living through cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, such as motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis and AIDS/HIV. Working with patients in treatment rooms and on wards at St Michael’s Hospice and Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital the trust also visits patients at home. Visit www.saraleetrust.org.
