A PENSIONER marked her 100th birthday on Friday (May 9).
Ruth Spratt, who lives at Leolyn Care Home in St Leonards, held a party with family and friends.
As an army wife, she travelled the world with her husband, Harold, before returning to settle in Hastings to be near her son, David, and his family.
Ruth was born in Plymouth in 1914, one of three sisters and two brothers. She met Harold when he was in the army and went on to join him in his postings all over the globe. Mayor Alan Roberts presented Ruth with a crystal paperweight, bearing the borough crest.
