THE club meeting held on the 18th January had a reasonable attendance in spite of the snow but Past President Brion Purdey decided that the meeting would be kept short in case conditions suddenly deteriorated.
Guests Craig Watts and Graham Atfield were again in attendance and will hopefully be inducted into the club in the very near future.
Sadly because of the shortened meeting Jacqui Armstrong’s My Life My Job talk had to be postponed for another day. These talks always reveal fascinating facts and Jacqui has certainly had an interesting life.
Greetings from other clubs were brought by Patrick Thompson from the Rotary Club of Hawkhurst, Ray Dixon from the Rotary Club of Bexhill and Jo Holden brought greetings from the Luton Town Clock which he was very impressed with. It was donated by the Rotary Club of Luton.
Plans were announced for upcoming events and fundraisers including a food demonstration and meal at the Fish Restaurant in Rye on March 14 and a cricket trip to see Sussex play Surry on June 12.
The club will also be present in Priory Meadow on Saturday, February 23 for Rotary Day promoting the End Polio Now campaign with purple crocuses and balloons.
