Two local entrepreneurs have been honoured at a special business awards ceremony.
Ian Noble, whose marketing business is based in Hastings, was a mentor for a number of start-up businesses.
Melissa Smith is a director of Soup Dragon in Hastings.
Both attended the New Enterprise Allowance Business Awards in Crawley recently. Ian was highly commended in the Most Inspirational Mentor category while Melissa was highly commended in the Best Customer Service category. Let’s Do Business Group (LDBG), which has helped almost 2,000 new ventures to start up in the south east, organised the event.
The NEA is a government initiative for long-term unemployed people who want to start their own company, providing them with mentoring for their business plan.
Figures which show 87 per cent of business start-ups assisted by LDBG are still trading beyond six months.
