A CARE WORKER has won an award in recognition of all his hard work and attention to detail.
Ray Piggott, who is a member of the kitchen team at Grosvenor House care home in Grosvenor Gardens, St Leonards, has won the Ancillary Worker of the Year award.
The award was presented at the Greensleeves Homes Trust Accolades ceremony held in London on March 19.
Ray fought off stiff competition from all the other ancillary staff including book-keepers, kitchen staff and domestic staff across 16 care homes.
Grosvenor House manager Janet Fox said: “Ray pays particular attention to detail on how residents like their food, how they like the table set, what cutlery is best for them to use, all the little details that make meal times more enjoyable.
“It cheers the residents up knowing that Ray is on duty.
“He will fetch and carry, he is a true modern day gentleman, polite, obliging, friendly, a clear asset to the team at Grosvenor House and a very worthy nominee.
“I don’t know what we would do without him!”
Ray also assists the activities co-ordinator helping to deliver activities.
