Racist told man “to go back to his country”

POLICE want to trace a woman who told a man to “go back to his own country” after he got off a bus.

The victim, aged in his 40s, got off the bus in Kings Road, St Leonards at 11.40am on February 27 when the woman started shouting at him.

Police say the abuse was racially aggravated as she was telling him in no uncertain terms to go back to his own country.

The woman is described as white, aged in her early to mid 20s, about 5’ 7’, of large build and was wearing glasses.

PC Jenna Boyd, said: “The victim of this abuse was distressed by what was shouted at him. We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to call in on the non emergency number 101 quoting serial 0670 of 27/02. Alternatively call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
