MORE than 250 students took part in the Race for Life at The St Leonards Academy last week.
In the blazing sunshine, students finished the 1.5-mile course in record time managing to raise £1,200 for Cancer Research UK, with the total still rising.
Leading up to the big day, students had also been raising money by holding cake sales for the charity.
Teacher and organiser, Mia Lamb said: “Well done to everyone who took part but a special mention to Ela Olivieri, Gemma Wright, Molly Swain and Chloe Lowery who each raised more than £100.”

Race for Life is held every year in June or July.
