ELDERLY people were welcomed by teenagers at Helenswood School when the students laid on their annual Christmas tea party.
Around 60 senior citizens joined in and were treated to a spread of food from the year 10 catering class, while the performing arts faculty performed a selection of festive-themed items.
Guests were given a visit from Santa, served tea by members of the school council and then were given their own box of goodies made up of gifts that had been brought in and donated by students from years seven to nine.
Headteacher Lucy Monk said: “A toast to the young people of Helenswood was proposed by one of our guests. For many this is a repeat visit to us and we hope to be able to host them for many years to come.”
