CHILDREN at Sacred Heart School had a surprise in store, following their assembly on Monday morning (December 12).
On a big screen appeared a special video message recorded by pop band JLS, congratulating the school on their efforts to raise money towards a new teaching building.
Staff, parents, and children at the school, in Old London Road, have been tirelessly fundraising over the last two years, aiming to meet their target of £140,000. The rest of the £1.4 million needed, has been provided by the Diocese of Chichester. So far the school has raised £90,000.
Gillian Payne, mother of eight-year-old Millie, and seven-year-old Jake, said: “As soon as JLS came up on the screen, the children were really shocked, it was lovely.”
