PETER CHOWNEY (Labour):
I have lived in Hastings since 1996, and have been a councillor for 10 years. I have represented Tressell for six years, and am currently a member of the council’s cabinet, with responsibilities for regeneration, planning policy and marketing.
I have worked on local government for the past thirty years, working for councils, the Audit Commission, and as an independent consultant.
Important issues for my ward are extending the use of council enforcement powers to improve neglected properties, protecting open space in Tressell ward, and working with housing associations to make sure social housing is well managed and maintained.
