Police have made a renewed appeal today (Friday, August 14) for information about an assault in St Leonards.

A group of men attacked the man in St Leonards in Magdalen Road at around 1.15pm on Monday, July 13 during a fight.

When police officers arrived the group had dispersed and after an extensive search the victim, a 26-year-old-man from the town, was found in Carisbrooke Road.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and has since been discharged.

Detective Police Constable Damien Cotgreave said: “This was a serious assault and we would like to speak with anyone who may have seen something suspicious before or after the attack.

“Witnesses can email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting reference 0648 of 13/07.”
