SCORES of people got into the Christmas spirit on Sunday (December 15) by taking part in the annual Santa Fun Run in Alexandra Park.
Despite wet and drizzly weather, more than 100 participated raising thousands of pounds for St Leonards charity St Michael’s Hospice.
Amanda Hildreth, community fundraiser for the hospice, said: “More than 100 ran on the day. It was a lovely event full of festive fun and there were some wonderful fancy dress costumes, all judged by Mayor Alan Roberts.
“People were even running with their dogs.
“We would like to thank Hastings Runners which organised the running side of the event, and Claverham, which provided a choir.”
Almost £6,500 was raised at last year’s Santa Fun Run and organisers are hoping this year’s total, which has yet to be finalised, will pass the £7,000 mark.
