HUNDREDS of certificates, medals and trophies were presented to rising performing arts stars at a prize-giving ceremony.
Students, aged from three to 33, from Hastings Stage Studio, were rewarded for their high achievements in classes and exams throughout the year by the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD).
Many pupils earned distinction for marks among the highest in the country in speech, drama, mime, ballet, tap, modern dance, street, jazz, singing and musical theatre.
Hastings Stage Studio is run by principals John and Vanessa Pohlhammer.
Mr Pohlhammer said: “We are very proud of all the students for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.
“This is a classic example of what young people can achieve, and is a testament to themselves, their families and the community.”
Moving tributes were paid to former pupil Russell Brown and to musician Chris Sayer, who had previously released “Santa’s Lost His Ho Ho Ho” featuring students of the school.
The evening at the Phoenix Arts Centre also included a Christmas show featuring festive singing and dancing.
Hastings Stage Studio is in Queen’s Arcade in the town centre and can be contacted on 01424 850028.
