Park life at its best in spring fun day

A FUN day is set to attract families to Alexandra Park on Saturday.

Now in its third year, Spring Day@The Park boasts a fairground, free play and craft sessions, a treasure hunt and a programme of live entertainment.

The event starts at 11am with a buns and biscuits baking competition, and entries need to be in the judging gazebo on the village green by 11.15am.

There are three age categories, ranging from toddler to adult, and entry is free.

People are invited to street theatre on the green with the Bros Uchenko at noon and 2pm, storytelling with Jo Moon at 3pm and the Human Gymkhana at 1pm.

Local musician Benbo will be on the bandstand at 1pm, The Referrals at 2pm, The Sounds Good Choir at 3.15pm and Vic Payne at 4.30pm.

Food from an array of local caterers will be on offer and there will be a market with stands from local businesses and craftspeople.

Organiser Michelle Taylor said: “The day runs from 11am until 5pm, please do come down and join us. We always have a good time and are sure that you will, too.

All stallholders, entertainers, people running events on the day, are local. Day@The Park is a great celebration of Hastings and all who sail in her.”
