THOUSANDS of pounds have again been raised following an annual shoot event for a cash-strapped St Leonards charity.

Participants at the Stonehouse Shoot and the Park Lane Group collected more than £3,500 for St Michael’s Hospice.

The money was raised by gamekeeper, Buster Ansell, in tribute to fellow gamekeeper, Michael Hollands, and Park Lane Group employee, Doreen Ashton, who were both cared for by the hospice.

Each year, the Park Lane Group matches the funds raised by the Stonehouse Shoot and between them they have raised more than £14,000 in total for the hospice.

Julie Brett, the hospice’s community fundraiser, said: “The money raised by Buster and The Park Lane Group has been a huge support to the hospice over the years.

“We’re very grateful to everyone involved and pleased to be able to celebrate our own Silver Jubilee alongside the Park Lane Group who also celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.”
