THESE proud parents started 2013 on a happy note with the arrival of their baby bundles of joy.
Baby India Kinsey was born at the Conquest Hospital at 8.38am on Tuesday, weighing 7lb and is the only child of Daniel Kinsey and his partner Tanya Smale.
Daniel, who lives with his partner in Mount Road, said: “We believe India was the first baby born at the Conquest on New Year’s Day. We were meant to have a home birth but because of slight complications on the day due to the contractions slowing down, we had to go to the Conquest. India was overdue by a few days, as Tanya was expected to give birth to her on Christmas Eve.”
Nevertheless India’s arrival into the world on Tuesday in hospital went ahead without any problems and Daniel said he and his partner were ‘overjoyed’.
Baby Mikey Taylor became the latest addition to the family of mother Lea Holyoake and father Mikey, having been born on New Year’s Day at 8.21pm and weighing 5lb 14oz. He has four sisters and one brother.
He was also overdue by a week, as his parents, who live in Old London Road, Ore, were expecting Mikey to arrive on Christmas Day. Lea said she had to be induced to give birth and underwent a membrane sweep because of Mikey’s late arrival.
She said: “There was no problem with Mikey’s birth. He was just late. We were, nevertheless, overjoyed at his arrival on Tuesday.”
