Overnight car thefts spate in Hastings triggers warning

A spate of overnight thefts from cars in the Hastings area in the past week have prompted police to ask owners to be vigilant.

Sergeant Vikkie Ambrose, of the Hastings Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Car owners are advised to be wary and ensure their vehicles are adequately secured”.

“This is particularly important if they contain valuable items.”

Anybody who notices anything suspicious or who may have other information about any these incidents is asked to email [email protected], report details online at www.sussex.police.uk/contact-us/response-to-appeal, or call 101.

Alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or visit www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

If a theft is thought to be taking place, phone 999 immediately and ask for police.
