Ore and St Helen’s Camera Club

THERE’S never been a better time to join our club. Membership is at record high during our 50th anniversary season. Come along and see for yourself. Our next meeting is on Tuesday, October 23, meeting at 7.45pm at Park Road Methodist Church Hall, Upper Park Road.

More details on our website at www.ore-st-helens.co.uk. The focus for this evening is our first Digital Image Competition.

Recently we have staged two successful evenings. One involved members bringing photos along where they welcomed feedback about how their work could be improved. We are sure to repeat this in the future.

Our first Print competition attracted more than 60 entries, including many from new members.

John Wigmore from Ashford proved an entertaining, articulate judge with a sense of humour to match. John judged the following as prize winners in their respective classes. In General: Dead Lock - by new member, Cazina Bromley: Industrial Revolution and Garage or Kitchen - Colin Dengate and What do you think? - Paul Praeger.

In Digital Art: Yellow Pearl - Howard Whitelaw. In Portraits: Locals watching Talent - Alan Harding. In Candid: Ladies observing - Felicity Hills and Siesta in 5th Ave - Paul Praeger. In Flora & Fauna: Elephant Hawkmoth - Colin Rendle and in Landscape: Lattice Ice by new member, Tony Sharpe.
