A visit from Chester Bear

Our Eastbourne shop recently held a fun day, with children's games and a visit from our cuddly Chestnut Tree mascot, Chester Bear.

It was an opportunity for customers to find out more about retail volunteer opportunities, have a browse around the shop and join in the fun.

We were delighted that The Worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne, Cllr Pat Hearn, and her Consort, Phillip Hearn, joined us on the day, taking part in the tombola and raffle and judging the children’s colouring competition.

Volunteers play a vital role in keeping the busy shop running, and the charity is asking anybody interested in joining the friendly team to put their Hands Up! and volunteer. In return for a few hours commitment each week working at the Chestnut Tree shop offers transferable skills, a supportive team, new friends, valuable experience and lots of laughs. There was plenty of information on the day about the various roles on offer, as well as the opportunity to chat to some of the current volunteers.

If you would like to put your Hands Up to volunteer at the Eastbourne shop please pop in or call 01323 725095 or email [email protected]. If you are unable to volunteer, staff at the shop would like to encourage you to please donate anything that you no longer need, as they are always looking for more items to sell to raise vital funds for the hospice.
