The Hastings Old Town Carnival Association is holding its annual donation evening on Sunday.

The event will be held at the East Hastings Sea Angling Association’s club house at the Stade Hall in Rock-a-Nore Road.

It will see the £5,000 of funds collected at the Carnival and Pram Race earlier this year distributed to local good causes and the event is open to the public.

The association’s Annual General Meeting will also take place at the East Hastings Sea Angling Club at 10am on Sunday November 16.

The chairman, vice chairman, secretary and treasurer have recorded that they will be leaving the committee and not seeking re-election.

Ion Castro, spokesman for the association, said: “Now is your chance to put yourselves forward and take an active part or even a leading role in running next year’s events. Membership of the association is open to anyone, without subscription, provided they are prepared to undertake organisational duties for the carnival. The carnival is a wonderful celebration of all things Old Town. We welcome new members with new ideas. They will receive a warm welcome. Anyone who turns up can take part.”
