Thom Kofoed: Everybody - Lets make a little love

I've got a task for all of you out there. Get a pen and paper readers and jot down the three things that you think Hastings is missing.

Anything at all, there are no rules here. If you're like me, and I have no doubt that you are indeed like me, then your list, in reverse order will consist of:

3. A state of the art underground Lazer maze that stretches from St Leonards to Rock-a-Nore and is open morning, noon and night.

2. A Memorial Museum honouring the 1980s sitcom classic - The Golden Girls.

1. A Ceramic Painting Cafe.

Well people of Hastings, wish no more. Unfortunately I can't arrange for a Dorothy Spornak/Bea Arthur statue to be erected in the foyer of the new college, (I will campaign for it always though - The Golden Girls need to be recognised for all that they were). Nor can I re-create a supervised, well lit war zone underneath the Old Town – Although whilst your building the Jerwood guys, it may be worth considering!

I can tell you however that Made With Love, the Ceramic Painting Cafe will open tomorrow (Saturday) in Queens Road.

In a little delightful space decorated with flowers, bunting and hand painted tiles you can wile away your time painting memories on to mugs, plates, bowls and other such ceramic deliciousness AND you can do all of this whilst tucking into cupcakes and sipping teas, coffees and juices.

If that isn't a little slice of pop perfection then knock me down with a feather. I myself think it sounds utterly adorable, perfectly quaint and just a little bit rock star (nothing quite says rock rebel like tucking into your Sugarpuffs in a bowl designed by your own hands emblazoned with the words 'If Rock n Roll is wrong then I don't

wanna be right.') I plan on having a whole tea service by Christmas!

I caught up with co-owner Debbie Fraser this week to ask her about her new venture.

"We're very excited about bringing ceramic painting to Hastings. We love this town and hope that our new shop, Made With Love is received well. We really want people to get involved and to create lovely mementos to cherish forever."

OK, OK so in truth I imagine that the majority of you have not really considered a ceramic painting cafe before, nor the possibility that Hastings is probably missing one. But now that I've bought it to your attention, made you aware of all that it is, I trust that you'll be lined around the corner come Saturday overflowing with dinner service designs and other marvellous hopes and ideas. And because I have no doubt that I'll be first in the queue I hope to see you there!

Made With Love, The Ceramic Painting Cafe opens in Queens Road, tomorrow (Saturday).
