GENEROUS shoppers dug deep to support a nearby nursery at a fundraising day.
Staff and parents from Silverhill Nursery, Alma Terrace, set up a stall in Asda recently with a cake sale, face painting, games, sand sifting and a raffle with a top prize of a year’s free membership to Clambers.
They were over the moon when the final total came to £640, enough to fund the youngsters’ annual summer trip out to a farm.
Organiser Michelle Krombholz said: “Everyone was really generous and it was an amazing amount to raise. The Government has cut all subsidies for nursery trips so we had to raise the money ourselves and it was a lovely day.”
She thanked Asda, the businesses that donated raffle prizes and everyone who helped out or got involved on the day.
