NEW Year’s Day will never be the same again for Annie Mannion and Kimberley Wood after they gave birth on January 1.
Kimberley, of St Helens Road, went into the Conquest Hospital at 5am after her waters broke a week early while she was asleep.
The 22-year-old eventually gave birth at 5.14pm following an emergency Caesarean operation.
Little Dexter William Wood weighed in at 7lb 8oz and will be a brother to three-year-old Harry.
Kimberley said: “It was worth every minute. New Year’s Day will never be the same again for us.”
Annie, of Amherst Close, was taken into hospital at 8am, 13 days after her due date of December 19.
The 32-year-old website editor for Macmillan Cancer Support, had to be induced and eventually gave birth at 10.07pm.
Bart tipped the scales at 7lb 2oz and his father Anthony proudly shouted out his first baby’s gender upon delivery. Annie said: “Anthony yelled out ‘It’s Bart!’ when he came out as we did not know whether we were having a boy or a girl. It was a very special day.”
