As part of ongoing improvements to Hastings Country Park Local Nature Reserve new welcome boards and information posts made of oak sourced from carefully managed forests now greet visitors.
The new boards have been installed by The Country Park Volunteers, a group of hardworking and dedicated people who meet up on Thursdays to carryout specific conservation and maintenance projects throughout the multi award winning and nationally important park.
Cllr Westley, lead member for environment said: “The new signs, now installed in Hastings Country Park, look great and I would like to thank everyone who regularly give up their time to volunteer at the site, helping to manage and maintain our internationally designated Nature Reserve.’
The enthusiastic group of volunteers meet up most Thursdays from 10:00 – 15:00 at Hastings County Park (HCP) and they welcome new recruits to join the friendly team and share their working knowledge.
If you have an interest in supporting your green spaces or just a passion for nature HCP offers great opportunities for anyone who would like to get involved. Contact Hastings Borough Council Rangers on 01424 451853 for more details.
