ST MICHAEL’S Hospice Open Garden Programme is reopening for a new season, starting on Tuesday, May 6.
Open Gardens offers people a rare opportunity to explore the secrets of private gardens not usually open to the public.
Boasting a spectacular list of places throughout Hastings and Rother, the scheme is offering the chance to explore more than 50 beautiful gardens bursting with colour.
The season will start at Mountfield Court, St Johns Cross, on May 6, where visitors, from 10.30am – 4pm, will have the opportunity to visit the three-acre garden which is filled with camellias, rhododendrons, azaleas and hopefully bluebells.
This garden also offers outstanding views and walks.
Sally Beresford, community fundraiser for St Michael’s Hospice, said: “The Open Garden season is an important event on the St Michael’s Hospice calendar, as it raises awareness around the services we offer throughout the whole of our catchment area, whilst raising much-needed funds”
“We are so grateful to everyone who generously opens their gardens, to the many volunteers who freely give their time, to Athelas Plants, the booklet sponsors and to everyone who supports us by visiting the gardens.”
The season runs from May to October with most of the gardens opening during the Summer months on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Price of admission ranges from £4 - £5 per garden. Open Garden gift vouchers are also available for £20, entitling the holder to visit five gardens free of charge and allows them to have one free meal deal at the garden of their choice.
