FOUR new play areas are to be built along the seafront, with work due to be completed by July next year.
The £175,000 scheme was given the go-ahead by the Charity Committee on Monday (December 12). The funds are to come from the Foreshore Trust.
It is thought a main play area will be located on the large grass area, on the seafront, by the crazy golf course, with smaller clusters of play equipment ideally to be placed at Warrior Square, Marina, and West St Leonards.
Hastings Borough Council is to seek tenders from play space design and build teams, and once available, draft designs will be publicly displayed and available for comment.
Short-listed designs will also be presented at a workshop of local children for feedback.
The council invited input from local adults and children through its website in November.
