A NEW online jobs board dedicated to 1066 Country has been launched to boost employment and training opportunities in the area.
1066Jobs.com, which promotes volunteer opportunities and advice on training as well as offering jobs, is being supported by local organisations including Hastings Borough Council, Hastings Direct, Sussex Coast College Hastings and the Let’s Do Business Group.
Cllr Peter Chowney, lead member for regeneration at Hastings Borough Council, explained why the council was pleased to become a founding partner: “Finding good jobs for local people is vital to our future. 1066jobs.com gives candidates the opportunity to search for jobs on-line at no cost.
“We believe the new site will really help local residents, from young people looking for their first job through to unemployed adults seeking a new opportunity, to those already in work looking for a new challenge locally.
“This initiative will undoubtedly bring benefits to local employers, and prospective local employees, and I wish it the success it deserves.”
Employers can post job vacancies for £99 + VAT which are then advertised for 28 days.
Candidates can search the job board free of charge and apply directly for the job opportunities that are advertised because posts include details of the recruiter.
The site has been developed from BrightonandHoveJobs.com, founded in 2010 by Gary Peters.
