THE Friends of the Conquest Hospital have donated £39,000 of new equipment in the Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) unit.
New air humidifiers, suction machines, new warm air humidifiers and nebulisers have been bought to help prevent laryngectiomy and tracheostomy patients who breathe through their neck getting chest infections. They also donated two televisions for the patient waiting room, one for adults and one for children.
Chin Barton, ENT matron/nurse practitioner, said: “We would like to thank the Friends for their generosity. This equipment will help those patients who have to breathe through their neck from getting chest infections and help avoid their admission to hospital. The Friends have been very good to this department over the past few years.”
