THIS year’s Nativity play for Key Stage One at Robsack Wood Community Primary School was the Russian folk tale Babushka.

Children from years one and two told the story of Babushka, a woman so busy cleaning her house, she takes no notice of what is going on around her such as a new star in the sky. When an angel tells her in a dream of a baby being born in a manger, she is horrified to think of a baby in a dirty stable so sets off for Bethlehem. Teacher Emma Dwyer said: “Key Stage One put on an excellent performance of Babushka this year. Parents experienced a mesmerising performance packed with a singing choir, high-quality acting and some Russian dancing.”
