Murder probe after elderly man found dead in St Leonards

A man was arrested on suspicion of murder after a pensioner was found dead in St Leonards this morning (Monday, March 13).

Emergency services were called to Marine Court on Marina at around 9am to a report a man had fallen from a flat.

A 93-year-old man was declared dead at the scene.

His death is being treated as suspicious at this stage and one man, a 54-year-old, has been arrested on suspicion of murder, police said.

Undercliff was taped off by police with numerous police vehicles at the scene.

At this time police said they are not looking for any other parties being involved.

Officers remain on scene and enquiries are continuing.
