THE Rotary Club of Hastings has extended its thanks to residents for their generosity in supporting the club with the Rotary Christmas Appeal in aid of local needy people.

Around £5,300 has been raised so far from the Tree of Light plus the store and town centre collections. Every penny of the money collected will go to local good causes. The club’s community service chairman, Derek Lawrence, said: “Although the total is slightly down on last year it is a fantastic response in these difficult financial times.”
