WE may have escaped the worst of the big freeze so far but Friday’s dusting of snow transformed the area.
And these scenes could become familiar in the coming days with heavy snow predicted on Sunday and no sign of an immediate thaw with temperatures struggling to get above zero.
Friday saw a spate of panic buying with long queues forming at Morrisons in Hastings.
The snowfall delighted youngsters with many heading to the East and West Hills to try and find suitable sledging spots.
Though most roads are open and trains are running, ice is still a problem and the Met Office was warning people to take extra care.
