BIG-HEARTED volunteers made the grade recently, by passing a community qualification that rewards those who give something back.

Mayor Kim Forward handed out certificates to a class of 15 adults aged from 18 to 56, all of whom passed a Community Volunteering Qualification organised by Hastings Voluntary Action (HVA).

Ian Rabbett, 49, of The Cloisters, led the classes, and said he was ‘extremely proud’ of the group’s achievements.

Steve Manwaring, HVA director, also paid tribute to the work carried out by the volunteers.
