Man stabbed on his way home

A MAN was stabbed while walking home through Hastings on Saturday night (April 13).

Police were called by the ambulance service to a home in Norman Road, St Leonards, at 1.45am on Sunday (April 14).

The 47-year-old victim was there and told police he had been attacked at around 10pm while he was on the steps between St George’s Road and Manor Road. He said he was approached by a man who asked for his mobile phone and was stabbed when he refused to hand it over.

Detective Sergeant Lee Floyd said: “The victim received serious injuries but is thankfully making a good recovery.

“His attacker is described as a black man, around 5ft 7ins, of medium build with a small moustache and a London area accent. He was wearing trainers and a beanie style hat.

“Did you see this man in the St George’s Road area around this time or anyone acting suspciously? Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101 quoting serial 100 of 14/4.”
