An extremely generous man has organised last-minute flights to the USA so a disabled five-year-old St Leonards girl can have life-changing surgery.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, decided to organise cancellation flights to St Louis so Molly Collins can undergo specialist surgery sooner than expected.

Molly, of Gillmans Hill, has mixed type four limb cerebral palsy which means she cannot walk unaided but the operation would help her to walk.

Molly’s mother Sarah Sullivan said: “It’s absolutely wonderful and he’s such a kind man.”

Molly’s family have been campaigning since March to fund the £60k operation and are currently on £46k.

“We’re so grateful to everyone as the whole town has come together - I can’t thank them enough,” she said.

The man now needs to raise £1800 for the four transatlantic tickets for the family to go with Molly to America on September 9.

He has been collecting money outside of Asda in Silverhill and Eastbourne as well as visiting businesses trying to raise as much money as possible.

Boxers Big Joe Egan and Rob Reid have offered to return to the Owl and Pussycat Lounge in Hastings in a couple of weeks to help Molly’s campaign.

Molly and her family have been travelling to London most days so she can have vital physiotherapy sessions which means they have had little time to fundraise.

Sarah said the man was so lovely as he had promised to sort it all out himself.
