Police are investigating an incident in which two teenage girls reported being chased by a man exposing himself.

It happened at 7.25pm last Tuesday (May 16) as the girls were out jogging, heading south along Croft Road on West Hill.

The man was hiding in bushes but as the girls ran past he lunged towards them and began following them, giving chase for several minutes.

During this time one of the girls fell and sustained cuts and bruises. On looking back along Croft Road, they noticed the man had disappeared.

He is described as white, in his mid 40s, of scruffy appearance and wearing a black hooded jacket, possibly concealing a bald or closely shaved head, and black shorts.

PC Elise Beckham, of the Hastings neighbourhood response team, said: “This was a frightening experience for the two girls and left them shocked and shaken.”

Anyone with information is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 1403 of 16/05.
