Police are trying to find a man who exposed himself to two children on a path in Hastings.

The eight-year-old boy and 10-year-old girl were walking along the path at the rear of Torfield School that leads from Croft Road to the play park in Bembrook Road at about 5pm on Monday (July 6) when they saw the man.

He was naked from the waist down and standing next to a white board that had a lewd sexual comment written on it in red pen.

The man made a suggestive remark to the girl so both children ran away and raised the alarm.

He was white, in his late 20s to early 30s and had black hair. He spoke with an English accent.

PC Ian Rise said: “The children were horrified by this man’s behaviour and did the right thing by running away and telling their parents who promptly rang police.

“A similar incident was reported by a woman at 3pm on the same day on a wooded pathway at the allotments at the bottom of Old London Road near to The Bourne.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the man with the white board in the area around the time of the incident.”
