Man crushed between lorry and skip in Hastings

Firefighters had to rescue a man after he became trapped between a lorry and skip this morning (Wednesday, November 18).

Crews were sent to the scene on The Ridge just before noon after receiving reports the man was injured and trapped.

Paramedics also arrived before the casualty was airlifted to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

A spokesman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “One male casualty had become trapped between a vehicle and a container. Firefighters worked with South East Coast Ambulance Service to release the casualty who was then left in the care of paramedics and the air ambulance.”

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said the man suffered ‘serious injuries’.
