PUPILS from a St Leonards primary school visited an exhibition of artworks made out of recycled materials.
Children from St Leonards School, in Collinswood Drive, met with members of Hastings Arts Forum in Marina to see how they could produce their own masterpieces using unwanted items.
Four artists, Mary Dawson, Rosie Harness, Danny Mooney and Julian Rumball also came into school to share their creativity with the children, helping them to make hats, puppets and sculptures, all out of recycled materials.
The trip was organised by teacher Sue Podmore.
She said: “It was a very exciting afternoon where, what looked like rubbish, suddenly emerged into hats, puppets and sculptures.
“This is such a worthwhile activity for our children, as they can experience creative art for themselves and appreciate a wider world.”
