A SUPERMARKET in St Leonards has raised hundreds of pounds for a hard-up hospice, thanks to the generosity of customers and staff.
Costcutter in Battle Road collected £500 for St Michael’s Hospice through running its Making A Difference Locally campaign over the last two years to help local charities.
Shane Dove, the store’s manager, said: “We set the scheme up so that we could help the local community to raise funds for good causes.
“Every time a customer buys a product with the ‘Making A Difference Locally’ logo on it from our in-store promotions, our supplier makes a small donation to our charity fund.
“Over time this has mounted up and we are very pleased to be able to hand this money over to St Michael’s.
“We also have the charity’s collecting pots in store as we are planning long-term support for the hospice,” he added.
