A COMMUNITY group is looking for women to join members in making Hastings’ first women’s Pop-Up museum.
Women’s Voice has been awarded £5,000 from The Sharing Heritage Lottery Fund to create a Women’s Pop-Up museum in Hastings.
Chris Sanders, project co-ordinator, said: “We will be working with artists and writers, using the objects we love to display at home, alongside the museum’s collections to explore different ways of telling stories about women’s lives past and present.
“The results will form the basis of two women’s Pop-Up museum events and a temporary display at Hastings Museum in June. The project is open to women of all ages and is free.”
A free series of events, open to all women will be organised this spring. Women can contribute their own photographs, memories and objects and use them to make history and create their own cultural exhibits for their very own Pop Up Women’s Museum.
The activities will be tutor-led and run from April to June.
