When will Priory Meadow cricketer statue return?

Priory Meadow is still without its distinctive cricketer statue six months on after it was bowled out by ice rink builders.

The Observer has been contacted by several readers asking when it will return.

But the statue is still currently being repaired by Bronze Age Foundary with no return date announced as yet.

It marks the former Central Cricket Ground which Priory Meadow is built on and was unveiled with the opening of the shopping centre in 1997.

The Spirit of Cricket in Queens Square was accidentally hit by a fork-lift truck last November.
