Warning is issued by police over fraudster

A CONWOMAN is using a specific distraction technique to dupe her way into people’s homes and steal from them.

Two distraction burglaries have been reported to police, sharing the same characteristics. The first happened on Saturday, December 14 at 4.15pm in White Rock and the secondthe next day at 7.05pm in Eversfield Mews South, St Leonards.

Both times the woman knocked at the door and asked the occupant if she could borrow a pen and paper so that she could leave a message with one of the neighbours. The occupants allowed the woman into their home. Only when she had left did the victims realise their purses had been stolen from their handbags.

The suspect was white, in her 30s, 5ft 5ins tall, of medium build and had dark brown hair. She wore a dark woollen hat, a coat and carried a shoulder bag. Call 101 quoting serial 1002 of December 14.
