It’s all happening for local singer/songwriter Rich Lown as 2014 unfolds into a rewarding and promising year.
The acoustic folk rock musican, who lives in Bexhill but works in Hastings White Rock, was backed by MP Greg Barker in a competition called Rock The House run by Parliament, and shone in the solo category.
Rich, 25, was pleased to chosen one of the top five by judges.
He said: “It was a great day and culminated in partying at the Houses of Parliament in the evening. Was fun!
“In other news though, more important, I’ve been asked to support Joan Armatrading again on three dates at the end of the year.
“I had played with her in Hastings two years ago and she’s invited me back on tour with her.
“Bexhill, Tunbridge Wells and Poole/Bournemouth will be the venues with Bexhill already selling over 1,000 tickets. The dates for the Bexhill and Tunbridge wells gigs are 22nd and 23rd November.
“I’ve also been in the studio the last weekend recording a new Acoustic EP to be available to download at the end of the summer. It will added to my current album to make a ‘deluxe’ version also available soon. That and various publishing interests, I’ve been super busy! Gigs coming up at the Forum on the 19th again in Bexhill and Brighton, Hailsham this month.”
Rich’s album Worlds Apart has sold to 25 countries worldwide and is available on Itunes, while a new song You Belong To Me can currently be heard on his Facebook page.
