Public toilets in Hastings are to feature in a special documentary made by the organisers of the national Loo of the Year awards.

Hastings Borough Council scooped an incredible 17 awards in the 2013 Loo of the Year Awards and the organisers decided that the town would be a great place to make the documentary.

Councillor Dawn Poole, the council’s lead member for leisure and amenities, said: “This is great news for us. The Stade public loos won the National Award for Beaches and Judy Pebody, one of our attendants, won both the National Attendant of the Year award and the coveted title of Individual Attendant Team Winner UK for her work at The Stade.

“The organisers were very keen to capture the award-winning loos and Judy at work in their promotional film.”

With 17 awards, Hastings is now ranked 3rd in the National Local Authority public toilet Premier League, a move from 7th place on the previous year.
