Thousands of people packed into the Hastings Town and Country show in Alexandra Park last weekend.

Organisers Oakleigh Fairs say they were delighted with the turnout ‘considering the gloomy forecast’.

All day entertainment included bird of prey flying displays with members of the public joining in, as well as miniature ponies, working dog displays as well as the opportunity for families to bottle feed lambs and baby goats.

Oakleigh managing director, Charlie Owen, said: “We love coming to Hastings - it’s one of our favourite events out of the 30 or so we organise all across the UK every year.

“It’s lovely to see families return year after year to enjoy a taste of the countryside right in the heart of the town.

“As well as offering them some great entertainment over the weekend they also had the chance to browse, sample and buy from a range of arts, crafts gifts and food stalls - all safely within the confines of the show area.

“We are looking forward to coming back next year either on the same weekend or in June – things have yet to be decided.”
