STUDENTS from ARK William Parker Academy (AWPA) and Parkwood Sixth Form recently took part in Haileybury School’s International Model United Nations Conference in Hertfordshire.
The group of 13 represented Libya, Tonga and the Netherlands. Around 800 students from as far afield as Saudi Arabia and the USA attended the conference and the group from 1066 Country demonstrated their ability to work alongside people from different backgrounds and countries to achieve compromise and advocate solutions. A third of APWA’s students won Highly Commended Delegate awards for their contributions to debate and support of other delegates. These were Jacob Smart, Alice Evans, Barnaby Catterall and Harry Ames.
